Dr. CA A. Raghavendra Rao, an eminent Chartered Accountant, visionary educationist, philanthropist, and entrepreneur, founded the A. Shama Rao Foundation in 1988. The Foundation carries forward the vision of Late Shri A. Shama Rao (1909 – 1992), a pioneering educationist of Mangaluru whose lifelong mission was to use education as a tool to transform society.
Under Dr. Rao’s leadership, the Foundation has evolved into the Srinivas Group of Institutions and Srinivas University, nurturing more than 15 000 students across four campuses—Pandeshwar, Mukka, Valachil, and Bengaluru—and producing over 35 000 graduates.
His commitment to holistic education has expanded learning opportunities across disciplines such as Medicine, Dentistry, Engineering, Management, Nursing, Pharmacy, Hotel Management, Aviation, Physiotherapy, and Allied Health Sciences.
